Kubota™ Pin-On Buckets

KBOH/BoltOnHooks LLC has developed a “bolt-on” solution for the Kubota™ pin-on buckets that have the turned up top lip that gets in the way of the regular Bolt-On Grab Hooks™ (BOGH’s) or Bolt-On Clevis Mounts™ (BOCM’s). Our solution is to weld a spacer to the bottom of a standard BOGH to allow the hook to clear the top lip. The spacer is placed against the lip to add more support to the hook, and a backing plate or a Bolt-On Clevis Mount™ (BOCM) is used inside the bucket as well for additional strength. These hooks are guaranteed to stay tight and secure under the most rigorous use, and will not come loose like other quick-on hooks can over time.

Some might ask “is this method strong enough?”, well after extensive research, and hundreds thousands of these hooks in the field with zero negative feedback we have to say “Yes, absolutely!” Here are some pictures from Mike T. that shows what these hooks can handle, as well as his ingenious solution to storing chain and other accessories on his machine:

One issue we found while researching this project is that Kubota™ makes several different styles of buckets, all with varying angles, shapes, lip heights and lip depths. This makes it near impossible to make a “one hook fits all” solution. I went to a rather large dealer in the area and looked at 4 different tractors and found 3 different buckets between them. We have been compiling a spreadsheet for various models, but you will need to verify the correct lip height on your bucket before ordering, see below for more details.

We are offering these hooks in two different configurations, one with just a backing plate, and one with a BOCM / Pad Eye (this option may require you to cut the excess threads off the bolts with a cutting wheel/angle grinder, we cannot do this for you).

How to Measure Your Pin-On Bucket

Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper fitment of your hook(s) on a pin-on bucket, we show the process in the video linked above as well. The plate MUST clear the lip so the spacer can be placed against it to help support the hook. What we need is a small framing square/rafter square/combination square placed flat on the roof of the bucket up against the rear edge of the lip. Then, place a straight edge on top of the lip and read the height of the spacer required to the nearest 16th inch. You should order the next sized taller spacer for your bucket, see pictures below for more details. In this example, the middle bucket would need a 2-13/16″ spacer, and the bucket on the right a 1-5/8″ spacer. Also watch the video linked above for a few other tips on measuring and installation.

We currently stock these 6 sizes of spacers:
1-7/16″, 1-5/8″, 1-13/16″, 2″, 2-1/2″, and 2-13/16″
